Ellender Knight is blessed to live amid the evergreens and oaks of the Pacific Northwest. Stories have always been an integral part of Ellender, broadening and brightening the spaces of an otherwise quiet life. Movies, books, plays, games, music; Ellender feels that all the ways in which stories are communicated are beautiful, even though not every story is lovely. Lately, she’s gained a greater appreciation for how art, in the twin forms of story and music, truly does reach around the world, crossing the boundaries of culture and politics to connect peoples at the soul.
Undermining her impression of a hermit, Ellender sometimes dabbles in theater, and currently works in retail. It is rumored possible to entice her to meet new people over the promise of a tabletop RPG, though this is largely unsubstantiated. Otherwise, she is one creature who prefers the den.
When Ellender’s mind can be pulled out of the aether, she appreciates snow with black-capped chickadees, the majesty of mountains, treasures of sunsets and sunrises, and the incredible views along the tireless Columbia River Gorge. She loves blankets, rocks, the smell of Spring, and the enlivening effect found within the growl of thunder. Perhaps best of all are moonlight and dreams, and Ellender often wishes both could be enjoyed at the same time. Mostly, she’s grateful for the incredible support and patience of her family, without whom none of the rest would much matter.
Can’t find me on Amazon?
I have made the decision to sell my work on my own website and at in-person events, and to avoid mega storefronts such as Amazon. My personal preference is to support smaller shops when I can, which made me quietly question if becoming part of the giant was something I really wanted to do. After discovering they are taking down authors’ work, Indie authors, especially, and altering the content of eBooks without permission or notice, the decision was very easily made. If you do happen to see my work for sale on such a place, I would appreciate being informed. This decision also allows me to choose my own printer, putting me a little more directly in control of the quality of the finished product you will receive. It makes me happier, and I believe it makes every book a little more personal, bringing us all a just a bit closer together in our human experience.
